Fakultas Teknologi Informasi menyelenggarakan pelatihan Penulisan Proposal PKM bagi mahasiswa yang akan diselenggarakan pada tanggal 2 Agustus 2008. Pelatihan ini sebagai salah satu bentuk keseriusan Fakultas ini untuk mengikuti Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (PIMNAS) XXII 2009
Pelatihan yang dilakukan di ruang E 201 akan diikuti oleh 15 mahasiswa FTI dari 2 Program Studi Dengan dilaksanakannya kegiatan tersebut, diharapkan secara dini mahasiswa FTI dapat menyiapkan proposal-proposal Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa Bidang Teknologi (PKMT), yang dilombakan di PIMNAS.
Sebagai informasi, dalam PIMNAS sebelumnya, satu kelompok mahasiswa FTI berhasil memperoleh medali PERAK untuk kategori PKM Bidang Teknologi. Mereka adalah Elaine Septiana, Chandra Kurniawan, Omega Palguno dan Yunita Kusuma Dewi, di bawah asuhan Bapak Sri Julianto, M.Kom yang mengusung judul PKM berjudul Desain dan Penerapan Identifikasi Personal Berbasis Biometrik dan Steganografi.
